There are literally hundreds of choices for planting in and around your pond or water garden. Some plants do well nestled in rocks near moving water, while others prefer to be in mud. Some of these other kinds of aquatic plants can be somewhat invasive over time if they are not maintained.
Have you ever seen a Bog Lily?
Plant these beauties in wet soil, and enjoy large lovely very fragrant blooms. These mix well with most other marginal bog plants if you are thinking of doing a mixed container to set in your pond. These also look nice and do well nestled into rocks around a waterfall feature.
Bog Lily - Crinum americanum
Spider Lily - Hymenocallis liriosme
Red Bog Lily - Crinum menehune
Same as regular Spider Lily but with really neat looking striped foliage!
